Project overview

Surprise Drinks makes fruit drinks for kids. Every bottle hides a licensed toy in a yellow capsule, from Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig or Sonic.

The site doesn’t sell anything yet, an online store is still in the works. For now the games carry it: the QR code on the bottle takes a child straight to memory, word search and jigsaw games with their favourite characters.

From the bottle straight into a game

The label carries a QR code. A child scans it with a phone and is playing seconds later.

The pages are built for phones first. Big buttons, touch-friendly games and no sign-in.

Three games for every licence

Memory, word search and jigsaw. They run right in the Shopify theme, with no third-party apps.

Memory

Twelve cards, six pairs of characters from the licence. The game counts moves and time.

After the last pair the game cheers and shows how many moves and how long it took.

Word search

Character names hidden in a grid of letters, backwards and diagonally too. Swipe across a word with a finger or the mouse and it turns green on the grid and in the list.

When a child is stuck, a hint lights up the first letter of the next word.

Jigsaw

A licence picture cut into 25 pieces, 16 on a phone. The right piece snaps in, and neighbouring pieces stick together.

Time and moves are counted. A hint shows the whole picture faintly under the board.

Every licence in its own colours

One set of games and twenty colour schemes. A licence is a single entry in the admin, and it becomes a page, three games and links in the menu.

01

A licence is an admin entry

Name, pictures and game content are filled in in Shopify. The team adds a new licence on their own, no developer needed.

02

Colours the games pick up

Every licence has its own backgrounds, cards and buttons. The games and navigation take them on automatically.

03

From one game to the next

Every game links to the other two games of the licence, so kids never have to search.

Three markets, 14 languages

The US, the European Union and Poland run in one Shopify store with one theme. Market-specific templates handle what differs.

United States

us.surprisedrinks.com in English. Its own licences like Bluey or SpongeBob and American flavours.

European Union

eu.surprisedrinks.com for 27 countries in 14 languages, from Czech to Greek. Translations are tied to the EU market.

Poland

A market of its own with Polish copy. The team edits it right in the theme editor.
